Redland Baptist Church – Youth Ministries

Purpose:

The youth ministry of Redland Baptist Church exists so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and by believing have life in His name.

Believe Jesus is…

This portion of the purpose statement provides a directive to teach who Jesus is, what He has done, and what he will do. This Christ is the one who was promised by God to come and rescue Israel (God’s people which is now the Church). Jesus is able to rescue his people because He is the Son of God. Being fully God and fully man, Jesus is able to take away sin and give His righteousness to all who believe and trust in Him as Lord.

…Life in His name

This aspect of the purpose statement is directed towards discipleship and living by faith. What does it mean to be a Christian? What do Christian’s do? How am I supposed to live? What is God’s will for my life? What good works must I perform? Questions like these and more are the focus of discussion.

Primary Ministry Opportunities

REFUGE (Wednesday Night) is focused on teaching Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. This is an opportunity for students to hear the gospel clearly presented. Refuge is a place where students can invite their friends and know that they will receive the lifesaving message of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School is the primary opportunity for discipleship, training in theology, and faith living. This is a place where students can learn what it means to be a Christian. Through study of the scriptures and other resources we will dive into the doctrines of the bible and how they apply to our lives today.

Live: Special Bible study opportunities to continue in discipleship training by meeting together with likeminded students to discuss issues that surface from daily life. We may meet as one group but there will be times where ladies and
men meet separately so that we can be open, honest and build each other up inChrist.

GO! Events where students will have the opportunity to go tell others aboutJesus. The goal is to share the hope that we have in Jesus with the hopeless. There is no better way to experience the life that we have in Christ than by purposefully sharing the gospel with others.

Serve: Opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ. We will look for ways tohelp our church grounds, fellow members, our community, or any others in need. We are all called to serve the kingdom of God and He promises that our work will
not return void.

Our goal in these ministry opportunities is to provide spiritual food for every person. To the unsaved we give the gospel of hope, to the new believer we provide guidance and direction, to the one struggling with life we offer encouragement and support, and to the maturing believer the challenge of intentional evangelism. All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Jesus and it is with His power and grace that we strive to go and make disciples for Him.
