The first village we visited is called "La Tranquilla," 15 minutes from the center
of Patate. We visited the local school, which, belonging to a very small
community, has 15 students and only one teacher, but they received the
teaching of the Word of God with great joy.
The next community is located 40 minutes from Patate and is called "Artesón."
The school we visited has 80 students, many of whom have serious family
problems. The Baptist Church of Patate has visited this school on several
occasions, bringing the gospel to the children's souls. It was a great blessing to
be able to participate in this community.
The third community where we were able to do mission work is called "Sucre."
The temperature is cooler in this community because it's located more than
8800 feet above sea level and is 25 minutes from the city. This community has
a strong religious influence, a blend of mysticism, indigenous traditions,
idolatry, and Catholicism. This village has a 2,000-year-old indigenous history
and background. The Baptist Church of Patate has a mission there, and every
Saturday they work with the village children. For our team, it was a great
pleasure to work alongside them, continuing to sow the good seed.
Below are some Photo to enjoy from the Church Mission.
